Summary of the story
The story takes place in Paris in the 19th century. City socialite Violetta is known as the "Camellia Woman" for her love of wearing camellias. The camellia girl was moved by the sincere affection of the young Alfred and fell in love with him, resolutely leaving the decadent Parisian social circle. Unexpectedly, he was obstructed by Alfred's father. At the plea of Alfred's father, the camellia girl reluctantly chose to give up for the future of her lover and the reputation of her family, and then returned to Paris to resume her old business. Unfamiliar Alfred couldn't understand her actions and publicly humiliated her. The resentment of her lover made the Camellia woman, who already suffered from tuberculosis, critically ill. As the Camellia Lady lay on her deathbed, Alfred's father revealed the truth to her, but it was too late. Violetta lay in Alfred's arms, leaving this world with regret for her lover and inner loneliness, withering and falling like a camellia……

Yuan Ding | Command
Conductor Yuan Ding, currently the Chief Permanent Conductor of the Central Opera House, a member of the Academy's Arts Committee, Deputy Head of the Symphony Orchestra, a member of the China Opera Research Association, a young top talent under the National High level Talent Special Support Program, and a master's supervisor at the China Conservatory of Music. As a highly acclaimed conductor, Yuan Ding maintains long-term and productive partnerships with all top domestic art groups. As a hot and influential force on the contemporary opera stage, Yuan Ding has led and premiered a large number of original Chinese plays in recent years. When performing Western classic operas, Yuan Ding is able to fully showcase the artistic charm of different styles of plays with his profound skills and precise interpretation. Of particular note is that in 2024, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Puccini's death, Yuan Ding led the Hong Kong Opera House and Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra to perform the newly produced opera "Turandot", which achieved sensational success and received praise from mainstream media in Hong Kong.

Gianfranco de Portio | Director
Graduated from the French Literature program at the University of Padua, has served as a theater, film, and television director, directing over 70 operas. He served as the director of the Verona Theatre from 1968 to 1971 and from 1993 to 1998. He has directed multiple operas in Europe, Israel, and Japan, such as "Nabuco," "Othello," "The troubadour," "Masquerade," "Aida," and directed the film versions of "Nabuco," "Aida," "Othello," and "Tosca. In 2001, directed the popular video version of "La Dame aux Cam é lias" at the Budapest National Theatre. Bosio is still a professor of directing at the University of Milan and serves as the Vice Chairman of the International Committee for Drama and Poetry established by UNESCO in Verona.
Li Dandan | Chinese director
Li Dandan (second daughter of Li Zhafu), a soprano singer and opera director. A first-class actor who receives a special government allowance from the State Council. Member of the Chinese Musicians Association and the Chinese Dramatists Association. Born in Harbin, I have been learning piano since childhood and excel in vocal music, painting, and drama. Entered the Central Opera House in 1978. He has starred in operas such as "La Dame aux Cam é lias", "Madame Butterfly", "Carmen", "Turandot", "Sunset Crane", directed operas such as "La Dame aux Cam é lias", "Madame Butterfly", "Artist's Career", "Hoffmann's Story", "Beichuan Lanhui", and collaborated on the translation and adaptation of operas such as "Artist's Career", "Hoffmann's Story", "Faust", etc.
Gao Guangjian | Stage Design
First level stage design, Vice President of the China Stage Art Society, Honorary Academician of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Visiting Professor and Second Academy Award of the Central Academy of Drama, and Special Government Allowance from the State Council. Representative works: opera Turandot, Magic Flute, Cangyuan, Zhao's Orphan, dance drama The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting, Du Fu, Cavalry, Beijing opera Red Cliff, Return to the Heart of the World, drama Shangganling, Dust Settles, Shaoxing opera Qiantangli, large-scale tourism live show Border Town, Flower Mountain, etc. The Peking Opera "Returning to the Heart Under Heaven" won the Gold Award for Performance Design at the 13th Prague International Exhibition of Performance Design and Space in 2015, while the play "Shangganling" won the Best Stage Design Award at the 4th Chinese Drama Festival in 2021. The works have won the Ministry of Culture's Wenhua Award and Wenhua Stage Art Design Award multiple times, and have been selected as one of the "Top Ten National Stage Art Projects". I have curated the 2011, 2015, and 2019 Beijing Stage Art Design Invitational Exhibitions.
Shi Jingfu | Rehearsal Director
Director of the Central Opera House, member of the Chinese Dramatists Association and the Chinese Musical Theatre Association. Received the Outstanding Young Director Award from the Ministry of Culture. Director's works: operas such as "Federico," "Hansel and Gretel," "The Marriage of Figaro," "Turandot," "The Magic Flute," "The Artist's Career," "The Clown," "The Country Knight," "The White Haired Woman," "Carmen," "Tosca," etc. Immersion opera "La Dame aux Cam é lias," and musical play "West Side Story. Served as the director of the "Centenary Dream" drama at the large-scale cultural and artistic evening celebration of the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up jointly organized by the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Zhou Haoyu | Choral Conductor
Zhou Haoyu, the permanent conductor of the Central Opera House Choir. I graduated from the Conducting Department of the Central Conservatory of Music with undergraduate and graduate degrees, and have studied under Professor Xu Xin, Professor Yu Feng, Professor Yang Li, and Professor Xia Xiaotang. She has many years of experience in conducting symphonies and operas, successfully rehearsing dozens of classic Chinese and foreign operas, original Chinese operas, and hundreds of concerts; We have collaborated with well-known domestic and international theater groups multiple times and have received high praise. She is known for her precise musical control and delicate emotional expression, and is a conductor with both technical skills and artistic sensitivity.
Du Xuan | Band Chief
Du Xuan is a Chinese violinist who has lived in Europe for many years. He has served as the guest principal of the BBC Radio Philharmonic Orchestra in the UK, guest principal of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Symphony Orchestra in the UK, guest deputy principal of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, guest principal of the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra in Spain, principal of the National Symphony Orchestra of Portugal, principal of the Tampera Symphony Orchestra in Finland, and principal of the Porto National Symphony Orchestra in Portugal. Since 2000, Du Xuan has also served as a soloist and principal in several modern chamber orchestras in Europe for over a decade, with rich experience and passion for contemporary music works. In 2014, Du Xuan, as a senior cultural expert, was invited by the Ministry of Culture to return to China and serve as the principal of the Central Opera Symphony Orchestra until now.
You Hongfei | soprano singer
A first-class actor, graduated from the Opera Department of China Conservatory of Music, and later went to Milan Verdi Conservatory of Music in Italy as a visiting scholar sent by the state for exchange and study. National cultural masters and "four batches" talents; Honorary Mentor of Yuanpei College, Peking University; Holding the annual "Art Tour" at Peking University for fourteen consecutive years; Visiting Professor at Harbin Conservatory of Music. She played the leading role in 24 Chinese and foreign operas, such as "The Camellia Maiden", "The Poet Who Recites", "The Artist's Career", "Candide", "The Merchant and the Miss", "The White Haired Girl", "Du Shiniang", "Farewell to Cambridge", "Night Banquet", "Xiao Hong", etc.
Guo Chengcheng | soprano singer
First level actor. Selected as a "Young Talent in Propaganda, Ideology, and Culture" by the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China, awarded the "Five One Project" award, and received the "Outstanding Young Actor Award" and "National High level Talent Special Support Program for Young Top notch Talents" from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Graduated from the É cole Normale Sup é rieure in Paris, France with the highest overall score and obtained a diploma in "Advanced Vocal Opera Performance" and a doctorate in "Highest Vocal Opera Performer". Played as the female lead in over 20 Chinese and foreign operas, including "Manas," "Red Army Fears No Expedition," "Red Gang Tailor," "Fate," "Pearl Picking Man," "Military Girl," "Courtesan," "Camellia Girl," "Clown," "Magic Flute," "Bat," and "West Side Story.
Xu Sen | Tenor Singer
Invited artist from the Northwest Lyrical Opera House in the United States, guest professor at the Open University of China, invited vocal instructor for the Gu Jianfen Youth Choir, executive member of the Academic Committee for Young Singers of the Chinese Association for the Promotion of Traditional Culture, expert judge for the National Youth Art Exhibition Finals of the Central Conservatory of Music, judge for the Valencia Golden Star International Music Competition, and judge for the Beijing division of the Melbourne International Vocal Competition. He won the 2014 Wenhua Performance Award, the first place in the 8th World Chinese Vocal Music Competition, and the second place in the 2017 Haricorea Dakeli International Vocal Music Competition in Romania. She has starred in over 20 operas, including "Ronson," "Carmen," "Tosca," "Madame Butterfly," "La Dame aux Cam é lias," and "Aida.
Han Junyu | Tenor Singer
Graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music and won awards at the Bellini International Vocal Competition and the Hong Kong International Artist Music Competition. His singing is full of passion and infectiousness, with a full and beautiful tone. He has played the lead role in operas many times, such as "Federico", "La Dame aux Cam é lias", "Qu Yuan", "My Mother's Name is Taihang", "Dido and Ineas", "S é mili", "Wounded", "Red Detachment of Women", "Manas", "Red Army Fears No Expedition", "Magic Flute", "Fate", "Road", "Border Town", "Turandot", "Jani Skiki" and so on. As a skilled tenor, he is active on the Chinese opera and concert stage with his spontaneous, passionate, solid, and steady singing and performance.
Wang Yiqing | Baritone Singer
He is a baritone singer at the Central Opera House, a second-class actor, and a specially appointed vocal teacher at the China Conservatory of Music. Starring in operas such as "The Marriage of Figaro," "Don Juan," "Janice Skeki," "Carmen," "La Dame aux Cam é lias," "Turandot," "The Artist's Career," "The Clown," "Romeo and Juliet," "Xiao Hong," "Border Town," and "Manas. Suite: Schubert's "Winter Journey", Schumann's "The Poet's Love", Mahler's "Song of the Dead", "Song of the Traveler", Ravel's "Don Quixote". Served as the baritone lead singer for Beethoven's Ninth Symphony "Ode to Joy", Verdi's "Requiem", and Xian Xinghai's "Yellow River Cantata".
Jinchuan | Baritone Singer
I graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Central Conservatory of Music and a master's degree from the Manis School of Music in New York. Studied under Professor Yuan Chenye and Professor William Burton. Received the Outstanding Award in the finals of the 7th China Music Golden Bell Awards. In 2016, she won the Boston division of the Metropolitan Opera vocal competition and starred in the opera "Little Women" as Professor Baeyer. That same year, she entered the Central Opera House. Previously played Tonio and Silvio in "The Ugly", Dankel in "Carmen", and Nanba Tian in "The Red Detachment of Women"; The Marriage of Figaro, Count; George Armand's "La Dame aux Cam é lias"; Romeo and Juliet, Count Capulet; The Coat "by Michele; The novel 'Xiao Hong' is full of good character; Wilderness, Hatred Tiger, etc.
